Review of The Past Present04-13-2002 -- Short Story: Mainstream "The Past Present" by Sylvia Petter
Publisher: IUMIX Short stories with something extra. Windows into other countries, windows into others' minds and lives, and mirrors to the past. Each story is unique and not repeated as you read. The stories are well-written, peopled with interesting and sympathetic characters. They are set in different countries and different times and each will leave its mark on your memory, like the story about a dog named "Dak". Included in the serious business of living, you will find a pause for whimsey about "Humpty the Dumpty" and an imaginary friend. There are life lessons and memories shared by the characters. Some will touch your heart. I recommend "The Past Present" as a read well worth the time. Its diversity in themes and times offer the reader an experience you will long remember! Anne K.
